Texas Snow
It snowed in Texas for the second year in a row. First time it's ever done that in history. It made work very busy to say the least. I definitely wasn't a fan. The snow needs to stay in Utah!

Happy First Anniversary!
One year ago today, my sweet wife FINALLY decided that she liked me enough to say yes. It was a long wait (ohhh about 7 years...ok maybe 1.5), but it was worth every minute. She is the best wife any man could want. We've grown so much over the past year and developed our relationship exponentially (that means a lot). We've both had a lot of maturing to do, and we made it happen. I love her so much. She makes me happier than I could have ever wanted to be.Since our anniversary fell on a Sunday, we decided to celebrate on Friday and Saturday. I bought her a gift, which was kind of lame because I waited till the last minute.
Then we went to Houston when Kari got off work. We stayed at a hotel near the temple and woke up on Saturday and went to the temple. Afterward, we headed down 1960 (that's a road) to an Italian restaurant one of my friends suggested, however, it was closed on Saturday for lunch. We would have gone Friday night, but we didn't get to Houston until late. So we traveled a bit further and made it to 1960 and 59. On the Northbound side, just past the intersection, there is a Italian restaurant called Zio's Italian Kitchen. It was so amazing. The atmosphere was nice. It was really quiet, authentic, great service, and really good food.

Sorry they're blurry. My camera sucks on my phone. Anyways, so the food was good. Then we came home.
Today, after church, I decided that we needed to keep up with the tradition to eat the wedding cake topper on the first anniversary. So we've had it in our freezer for a year....I've been waiting all this time....the results??
So basically, it was an awesome weekend. I love you Kari!

Happy Halloween
Well for our first Halloween as a married couple, we won't see each other. Matt had to be at work at 6:20 this morning and he won't be home until after 7 tonight.
I'm about to leave for work now and won't be home until late thanks to the World Series.
So I guess our costumes are a TV producer and a Test proctor. Clever costumes I know.
We carved our pumpkin on Tuesday since we wouldn't have today to do it and took pictures of it with Kim's camera so I'll have to post those later. We carved Patrick off of Spongebob. And today, I threw it away because it was growing stuff. Disgusting.
Happy Halloween!!!

No Longer Ghetto...
Let me start at the beginning.
About a month ago, Matt and I were driving to visit family and he hit a curb and my hub cap came off and we didn't know until we got to church and I was very sad cause now my car looked ghetto and I told Matt I couldn't drive my car like that and he said he'd buy me a new one and I said it had to match and it had to have the Mazda symbol on it cause the other ones do, so he said he'd buy me four news ones and I said I wanted the Mazda symbol ones and so I drove my car for a month looking ghetto.
But a week ago my wonderfully, amazing and sweet husband ordered me a new hub cap that had the Mazda symbol on it and today it came in!!! and today Matt put it on my car. So I'm no longer ghetto.
The End.

Primary Class
Here's a few hilarious moments while teaching the 8 and 9 year olds at church on Sunday.
Me: Hey you guys have to learn this song because the primary presentation is coming up and you have to sing it.
Isabel: OMG when?
(She's 9. Why is she already speaking to me in txting language?)
After already explaining about the Martyrdom of Joseph Smith and Hyrum, I proceed to show my class pictures of the Jail my sister-in-law took when we went there on vacation.
Me: These are some pictures from Carthage Jail.
Steve: You mean it's a real place?
Me: OF COURSE IT'S A REAL PLACE!!!! Did you think I was just telling you a story?

Day 1
Today was my first day being a normal working girl. I went to work at 9 and got off just after 5. It was amazing!!! I started tutoring an 8th grader. Matt and I tutor a brother and sister so now we get to go together. It was my first day doing that as well. It's kind of weird though. I feel like I'm back in school mode. I have to get up early, and then I'm gone all day and I come home around 7p.m.
Kim and Adam were sweethearts and fed us DINNER! It was so good. I was starving.. I didn't get lunch.. and I'm pretty sure my stomach growled louder than a bear while I was tutoring. (Talk about a distraction.) We played with Parkey for a bit and then we came home. Matt started homework and I started LAUNDRY.
Oh we're just living the life!

Labor Day Weekend
We had an eventful Labor Day Weekend. Friday night I had to work, so Matt came with me and we did our Sports Show and then I was done. We were only there a couple of hours, so no big deal. Then, my sister and her family came to spend the night that night. We sat up talking with them until about 1:30 a.m. That was fun.
Saturday we ate breakfast and went to play putt-putt at the mall. It was pretty exciting. Matt and I played two games and then took the best score for each hole. He ended up beating me by three strokes. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. After that, we went to eat as a family with my grandparents at Cheddars. Then, it was off to Houston for the Miss Texas USA pageant. (I know I don't strike you as a pageant type of girl.) My BFF from work was competing in it, so I took Saturday off of work so Matt and I could go. She did an excellent job!!!

(My hair wasn't looking so good by 11:00 p.m. after all the other stuff I did that day, plus it got sprinkled on.) After her pageant, we stayed the night at a friends house in Houston. There I stayed up talking with her until 3:00 a.m. WOOF! I know. Matt and I got up around 9:30 a.m. and found a church that started at 10:30 a.m. We didn't stay for all of church so we could make it home. His family had lunch at his grandmother's house so we met them there. Then, I had to leave and go to work. (Story of my life).
Monday, I worked on my puzzle from my birthday and Matt did homework. We ate Subway- Eat Fresh, for lunch and then I went to work. Kim and Adam apparently needed to go shopping at the mall, so Matt went with them and for my dinner break we went to eat at Pizza Hut. They went home and I went back to work.
One good thing about this long weekend is that was my last weekend to work weekends!! I'm now working the week night shift. I don't know which is better sometimes, but we'll see.

Birthday Party
August 28, my cousin Holly and her friend Justin gave me a birthday party with the help of my mom and Kim telling them what I liked. It was lots of fun. We watched the Cat in the Hat, while they finished decorating and making dinner.
Justin picked out my Party Hat.
Then we stuffed our faces with chili dogs, chicken, delicious fruit, vegetables and bread. Then it was outside for the AMAZING PINATA!!!
I got to be the lucky one to go first!
Then it was Matt's turn to take a "whack" at it.
And I watched him with my Sash on.
But, Justin did an EXCELLENT job of moving the pinata up and down.
...Until it was Adam's turn.
After he was finished, Mr. Pinata was no more. All that was left was his insides.
But, Parker didn't want the candy... he wanted something else instead.
And that was the end of my Birthday Sash.
Then it was time for cake and ice cream, but after all the food we already had, there wasn't much room left for the cake. My work enjoyed most of it.
And all that was left was the PRESENTS FOR ME!!!! They took me a while to open... Holly used a really big box...
for three tiny things in comparison... but it was worth struggle cause I loved them!!!
My uncle and aunt also gave me my own little tool box.. didn't get a picture of it out of the bag though.
I had a GREAT BIRTHDAY WEEK!! Thank you!!!

It's True... I'm the BIG 22!!!
Thursday was my birthday. It was a good day. I got up and went to work. When I got to work, my BFF Jessica (a.k.a Hobby- from Matt) had a card waiting for me on my desk. That was pretty much the most exciting part of work. My co-workers all signed a card for me as well that I got towards the end of the work day.
Then, I came home and went to dinner with Matt's family and my sister's family at Texas Roadhouse. It was fun, but the food and service wasn't that great. Matt bought me a cookie cake from GACC so after dinner we went and picked it up and went to Kim's house. I played with Parkie.

Just so you know it was YUMMY!!! I didn't even really eat it until the next morning for breakfast cause I was full from all the bread I ate at Texas Roadhouse.

Matt got me quite a few gifts for my birthday. He bought tickets to my BFF's Jessica's pageant for next weekend. She's competing in the Miss Texas USA pageant. I'm pretty excited to go. We are going to Saturday night's events. He also bought me Peanuts puzzle. It's a picture of Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown and he falls down... Matt says it is representative of our relationship... but I'm not sure what he's talking about. ;) haha. He also got me crayons and a coloring book from the Disney Pixar movie Up. I'm pretty excited. We colored with his niece during church when we went to visit a few weeks ago and it definitely made the time go by faster. haha. I think he loves me!

On Friday, he gave me another present. He bought the last two seasons of REBA for me on DVD!!! Now I have the complete series! Pretty excited about that.
My cousin Holly had a party for me on Friday night. I'll have to post the pictures from that soon, but Kim's still sending me the pictures from it.
Thanks to everyone for remembering my birthday! I got plenty of facebook wall posts, text messages, and phone calls! It was truly a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Vacation Numero Uno
Matt and I had our first vacation this weekend. We went to the Austin area to visit Matt's sister and brother-in-law. They had a baby boy a couple of weeks ago. It took us about 4 hours to get there. Matt's little brothers came with us. We had fun. We didn't go out and do a whole lot, but that was fine by me. I'm used to working on the weekends so it was nice to just stay home. We played games and watched movies. Two of my favorite things. :) I have no pictures to document the weekend, because we forgot the camera. Maybe Heather will send me some so I can post them. It's been nice to have so many days off, but it will be really hard to go back on Wednesday.
Matt's done with summer school. He has this week off and then on Monday he'll start his summer semester. He's glad to have a break, but he feels weird not having anything to study for. I told him he'll get used to that eventually. I'm ready to start reading a new book. I've got to figure out what I want to read though. That's all that's going on in our exciting lives. Hopefully more to come.

1 Year Ago Today...08/08/08
One Year Ago Tonight... Matt and I got engaged!!!
And how did we celebrate our wonderful day? We went to my niece's birthday PARTY!! That's when Matt remembered what day it was and quickly said it to me first so he could win. haha. Then, I went to work and he hung out with his brothers. He brought me McDonald's for dinner though. And then I came home and this is how we look exactly a year later.

Still so HAPPY to TOGETHER!
(Just a little more tired and no make-up on after a long day of work.)

We've Been Married for 8 Months!
I know I never blog and today, I'm writing TWO! (Honestly, it's because when I was checking out the first one and I saw the date... I realized it's been eight months today since I got married. WOOHOO!)
Our little story started long before Matt came to BYU and met my lovely roommates... one of which attacked us with these dots. :) (Thanks Kim Benne-- it's one of my favs)

We actually became best friends after "climbing many trees" and going on several walks in different parks. Maybe that's why our engagement pictures surrounded trees in a park.

Then, on November 22, 2008 we were sealed for eternity at the Houston Texas Temple.

And our story keeps on getting better and better...Happy 8 Months Matthew!

Texas Summer Thunderstorms
So we been having a summer drought. :*( And it's been ridiculously hot this summer. In a typical summer in Texas, almost daily you'll get about a 20 minute thunderstorm. It pours down rain, and I'm not talking just big drops. I mean it pours so hard that it's hard to see across the street sometimes. and then it stops the humidity starts and the mosquitoes come out. It's one of my favorite things about Summer in Texas. I love reading books when it's raining outside or actually going out and playing in it. It's my first full summer home in over three years and it hasn't been the normal summer. No thunderstorms, just the SUN and HOT! (Typically that would be a good thing in the summer time, but only if you have a pool to swim in... but we don't have a pool, so it's LAME!)
But since this weekend, the thunderstorms have started up again. Yesterday I was walking to work when one was about to start. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw this huge lightning bolt and instantly the thunder started to roll. The same thunder lasted until I was inside our building. My work is at a mall, so I have to walk a little ways to get to it, so that should tell you how long the thunder rolled. It was AWESOME! Sadly I was at work when it started to pour down rain and not at home so I could enjoy it.
Today, I still have to go to work, but the rain came early. I wanted to use Matt's camera to video it, but he has it at school today, so my cell phone videos will just have to do. But believe me, it doesn't do it justice about how hard it actually was raining.
(I have no idea what the noise is on the video...it sounds like a train coming through.. it's really weird cause that's not what it sounded like when i got it out of my email.)
Utah occasionally had a good summer storm, but nothing compares to the ones in Southeast Texas. I love being home!

Oh the Memories...
This weekend my childhood, youth hood, however you want to put it, friend got married. So I went shopping so I could have new clothes to wear. My mom was shocked by my shoes... so she said she had to take a picture. I don't know why she was so surprised...

Maybe it's because I'm wearing stiletto heels!!!!

Then Matt came out and I said take a picture with me, and he asked... what are we going to the prom or something? Such a boy.

So off we went on our long journey (haha) to Silsbee to the wedding. Hayley looked so beautiful! I was glad I could be off work to enjoy the evening with her. As soon as I got there, I snuck a peek at the bride, and one of the bridesmaids.

So Hayley Wu's wedding had me thinking alot about the past. Things I missed, things I wish had been different, and things that I loved. Here's one that came to mind...

We have so many memories together. And hopefully we'll have plenty more! Congratulations Hayley Wu (Tu)! haha.

My FIRST Pair! I think they're HOTT!
Then Matt came out and I said take a picture with me, and he asked... what are we going to the prom or something? Such a boy.

I'm still way shorter than him with four inch heels. haha

I NeVeR Blog.... Oops.
I'm sorry I never blog. Matt and I aren't that interesting apparently. haha. We are trying to get back in shape and be healthy. So we are in the process of buying new BIKES! It's loads of fun. Matt actually already bought his. So now it's just me.
We were doing this Couch to 5K plan that I saw on my friend's blog. It looked awesome. By the end of the summer we were going to be able to JOG a 5K. But, we did it the first day and we never did it again. We FAILED! Actually, the problem is Matt's LONG legs mean his JOGGING is me SPRINTING! No bueno. So I tell him to slow down and my jogging is him walking in place. haha. Can you imagine?
Solution: BIKES.
So when, I finally get my bike and we actually take them outside and use them, we'll have to take a picture (because everyone knows people only look at blogs for the pictures).
We also are borrowing Matt's parents' boflex. We're going to be BUFF. Just watch out. :) I don't even know how to use it. He tried to show me the other day, but I'm still learning.
Anyways, working out is our big summer plans. Matt's in school all summer so no vacations. And I work all the time, so no weekend vacations. But oh snap am I going to be skinny and buff when the summer is over!!!

Our New Header
On Monday night for FHE, Matt and I went to the grocery store. We did so good. The "Biggest Loser" trainers would be so proud of us. We ate dinner first, so we weren't hungry when we went. And we made a list and pretty much stuck to it. There were a few things that we forgot to put on the list so once we saw it on the shelf we realized we needed it. I was so proud... especially because it was healthy food?!?!?! I know. Can you believe it? I bought healthy food and NO junk food! Amazing if I do say so myself.
Then, we came home, turned on the Game Show Network, and worked on our new header. It took a long time. But I think it turned out really well. What do you think? I picked the font because I think it looks like my handwriting. As soon as my mom saw it, she said the same thing.
Here's what we are up to:
Matt's on his short break from school before summer school starts up again. He's working at Lamar in the Career and Testing Center. He's tutoring a high school student as well until his school gets out.
I just work, Work, WORK! My favorite part about my job is the friends I've made there. I'm the weekend producer for a local TV station, but I produce more shows during the week, than on the weekends.
Our days off never match up though, so we don't get to go and do as much as we would like to. But when we do, we have a blast!
