Texas Summer Thunderstorms

So we been having a summer drought. :*( And it's been ridiculously hot this summer. In a typical summer in Texas, almost daily you'll get about a 20 minute thunderstorm. It pours down rain, and I'm not talking just big drops. I mean it pours so hard that it's hard to see across the street sometimes. and then it stops the humidity starts and the mosquitoes come out. It's one of my favorite things about Summer in Texas. I love reading books when it's raining outside or actually going out and playing in it. It's my first full summer home in over three years and it hasn't been the normal summer. No thunderstorms, just the SUN and HOT! (Typically that would be a good thing in the summer time, but only if you have a pool to swim in... but we don't have a pool, so it's LAME!)

But since this weekend, the thunderstorms have started up again. Yesterday I was walking to work when one was about to start. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw this huge lightning bolt and instantly the thunder started to roll. The same thunder lasted until I was inside our building. My work is at a mall, so I have to walk a little ways to get to it, so that should tell you how long the thunder rolled. It was AWESOME! Sadly I was at work when it started to pour down rain and not at home so I could enjoy it.

Today, I still have to go to work, but the rain came early. I wanted to use Matt's camera to video it, but he has it at school today, so my cell phone videos will just have to do. But believe me, it doesn't do it justice about how hard it actually was raining.

(I have no idea what the noise is on the video...it sounds like a train coming through.. it's really weird cause that's not what it sounded like when i got it out of my email.)

Utah occasionally had a good summer storm, but nothing compares to the ones in Southeast Texas. I love being home!
