I NEED a Swimming Pool

I have HORRIBLE back pains everyday. (It's because I lean over my desk all day long while I'm at work staring at my computer, and my computer chair isn't that great either.) Poor Matt has to give me a massage almost everyday to try and work these HUGE knots out of my back.

So, I was watching Rachael Ray the other day and she had a doctor on the show that was talking about back pains. They did the human lab tests with athletes who have back pain. Anyways, the doctor said the best thing you can do when you have back pain is go swimming. Swimming is good for back pain because you aren't sitting or laying down and putting more stress on it.

Therefore, I decided I NEED a swimming pool.
I'm sure Matt would like it as well because he hates giving me back massages... he always wants to know when it's his turn.

This is the only picture I found of a swimming pool (and it's actually the hot tub by the swimming pool at Raintree, but it'll have to do).
And I don't mind if these lovely ladies come with the pool either. :) I miss these girls! They need to come visit me!!!!

Reporting in Bridge City

This week at my internship I was working with the Reporters and we did a story in Bridge City. It was interesting, because local oil company Motiva has been a major factor in gutting the houses in Bridge City and trying to get them back to normal. I did a package on it for my resume tape, but sadly it was my first one tape-to-tape so it isn't very good.

Some employees of Motiva took us to a couple of houses to see some of the damage. One of the homes we went to, the family had only lived there for about 2 months (brand new home) and they didn't have any flood insurance. It was so sad. They took us into the house and they had completely gutted it. You could see through the bottom over room up to like 4 feet. They had pulled out all the kitchen cabinets, sink, everything. It looked so bare like no one had ever lived there.

Motiva said they had helped gut around 225 homes by Tuesday, so I'm sure the number has gone up now. They have helped mostly in Bridge City, but that number includes other surrounding areas. They have been helping their employees first and then going out and helping other residents from the area. They have done a great job though.

Bridge City students actually got to go back to school on Wednesday. They aren't all living in Bridge City, so one bus from every district around this area that have Bridge City residents staying in their city are taking Bridge City students to and from school. The elementary schools are set up in portables for the rest of the year, but fortunately the kids are getting back into their normal routine.

Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. It's awesome to be doing my internship now though so I can see things up close and tell others about it.
